In a statement on Saturday night, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi condemned the terror attack in Pakistan’s border region and expressed condolences to the Pakistani government and nation and families of victims of the incident.
He also voiced Iran’s full preparedness for any joint action with Pakistan against the threat of terrorism in the region, in any shape and form.
Six members of the Frontier Corps paramilitary force in charge of security in the region were killed in the Friday attack in southwest Pakistan when their convoy came under heavy firing in a mountainous area near the border with Iran.
Fourteen others were wounded.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Baloch Raji Ajoie Sangar (BRAS), armed Baloch separatist groups, have both claimed responsibility for the attack.
Last month, three men from the separatist Baloch Liberation Army stormed the Chinese embassy in Pakistan's Karachi, killing two policemen.
