Japan to continue trade with Iran despite US sanctions : ambassador

The Japanese ambassador to Iran Mitsugu Saito made the remarks in a meeting with Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnaser Hemmati, Xinhua quoted Tehran Times daily as saying.

Th ambassador said that the Japanese companies have preserved their businesses with Iran over the past months despite the US sanctions pressures

"Japan will continue economic relations with Iran according to its own interests," he was quoted as saying.

Mitsugu Saito said that an Iranian banking delegation will soon visit Tokyo.
