TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to PressTV, Kazem Gharibabadi made the remarks on Monday in an address to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting, which was held in New York on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
He said the brutal atrocities that Israel is committing against Palestinian people both in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank are tantamount to a “systematic and deliberate campaign” of war crimes, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and genocide, and are in violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.
“The unlimited impunity for the Israeli regime is a threat that can cause a greater human catastrophe in the occupied territories,” he added.
"Every moment of inaction by the international community means the continuation of the massacre of innocent Palestinian civilians. The world cannot remain silent in the face of these crimes; a swift and decisive action is not only expected, but also a moral and human obligation."
Gharibabadi referred to Israel’s mass murder in Lebanon that took place last week through the explosion of telecommunication devices, saying the terror attack once again showed the regime's absolute disregard for human life and international law.
"Now is the time for a decisive action. The innocent are calling for justice; the history will judge those who act and those who turn a blind eye [to crimes],” he asserted.
“The killing machine of the Israeli regime must stop in Gaza, Rafah and throughout West Asia. The international community must persistently pursue the trial of all those who are ordering and perpetrating [the crimes] and are complicit with the terrorist regime [in its crimes].”
Gharibabadi noted that the root cause of today's war is more than seven decades of occupation and establishment of a fake and illegitimate regime in Palestinian land, emphasizing that the oppressed nation has a legal and undeniable right to resist Israel’s occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza, which has so far killed 41,455 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 95,878 others.
Over 700 Palestinians have also been killed by Israeli fire in the West Bank in the same period.
Simultaneously, the Tel Aviv regime has conducted deadly strikes and terrorist assassinations across Lebanon.
