TEHRAN (Defapress) - On Sunday, Araghchi expressed his views on his X account regarding his discussions in New York with EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell and Enrique Mora, the deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service. These discussions occurred during the UN General Assembly session in September.

In his post, Araghchi stated, "During a meeting with @JosepBorrellF and @enriquemora in New York, I made the following points: 1- The military collaboration between Iran and Russia is not a recent development; it has a historical context that predates the Ukrainian crisis. 2- Some Europeans have provided Israeli regime with all kinds of sophisticated weapons, and anxiously engaged in military operation against Iran”, Araghchi said in his post."

He further noted, "3- The US Maximum Pressure policy remains in effect, and the European business community adheres strictly to the directives of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which is part of the US Treasury Department and oversees the enforcement of economic and trade sanctions."

Araghchi emphasized, "I have clearly stated, and I reiterate: we have NOT supplied ballistic missiles to Russia. If Europe seeks justification to placate Israel's demands, it should look for a different narrative."

These remarks from Araghchi come amid reports that the EU is considering sanctions against several Iranian individuals and organizations accused of involvement in the purported transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia. According to Reuters, European diplomats indicated that the EU foreign ministers are expected to announce these sanctions during their meeting in Brussels on Monday.
