Iran does not look for tension

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Iran has no intention of escalating tensions, in contrast to the actions of the Zionist regime. Araghchi articulated during a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday, that according to Article 51 of the UN Charter, it has the full right to defend itself and will respond to Israeli aggression, in appropriate times and situations. 

The brutal actions of the Zionists in Gaza and Lebanon have become increasingly evident amid the rise in aggression and reckless assaults, he noted.

Araghchi expressed gratitude for the stance taken by Pakistani officials against Israeli aggression.

In a related statement, Ishaq Dar condemned the violent actions of the Zionist regime towards Iran and emphasized the united front of Tehran and Islamabad against Israel's unlawful activities in the occupied territories.

Criticizing the ongoing crimes perpetrated by the Israeli regime in Gaza and their devastating impact on the Middle East, Ishaq Dar remarked that Israel has clearly violated international laws, the United Nations Charter, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He pointed out that the current tragedies in Gaza stem from the denial of the Palestinians' rightful claim to freedom and independence.

Additionally, he acknowledged Tehran's support for Islamabad's bid for BRICS membership and underscored the importance of enhancing relations between Iran and Pakistan, particularly within regional and international organizations.

Ishaq Dar mentioned that a meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is set to take place in Jeddah on November 11, with both Iran and Pakistan committed to assisting the Palestinians and advocating for a ceasefire.

He concluded by stating that Tehran and Islamabad are resolute in their collaboration against the threat of terrorism and in expanding bilateral cooperation.
