TEHRAN (Defapress) - Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Geir Pedersen, the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, met and discussed the developments in the Middle East and Syrian issues on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In this meeting, the special UN Envoy for Syria referring to the developments in Syria, presented a report on the latest measures in this field to the Iranian Foreign Minister.
Iran's foreign minister also announced his support for the efforts of the United Nations in Syria and said that foreign forces should leave the territory of Syria and reconstruction of that country should begin as soon as possible.
Araghchi also clarified regarding the developments in Gaza and Lebanon that although the crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon are carried out out of desperation, they will not go unanswered.
